NLIG celebrates the coronation of King Charles III
On Saturday 6th May 2023 at 11am, the coronation of Charles III and his wife Camilla will take place in Westminster Abbey as they become King and Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms - where every British monarch has been crowned for over 900 years.
We are privileged to be witnessing this historical event, which sees Charles sitting on the Coronation Chair, known as Edward’s Chair, with the crown of St Edward placed on his head and holding the sovereign’s sceptre and rod, representing his control of the nation, and the sovereign’s orb, representing the Christian world.
It’s an event that is being celebrated across the country, with many people watching the pomp and circumstance of the coronation on Saturday and commemorating the event on Sunday, with street parties, celebrations and Coronation Big Lunches, joining communities, friends, families and neighbours together.
On Monday, members of the public are invited to take part in The Big Help Out, encouraging people to try volunteering and join in the work being undertaken to support their local areas.
Here at NLIG, we are very much looking forward to joining in the celebrations across the weekend and would like to draw your attention to the fact that we won’t be in the office on Bank Holiday Monday, 8th May, reopening for business on Tuesday 9th May.
We hope you enjoy the extended weekend and fully enjoy the King’s Coronation celebrations in style, whatever you choose to do. We will certainly be raising a glass to King Charles III and wish him well for the duration of his reign.
If you have any urgent concerns about your insurance or wish to arrange cover, please get in touch before we close on Friday 5th May, giving us time to respond to your requirements.
