Trail-blazing professional qualifications for staff

NLIG staff members continue to blaze a trail on the training front, achieving more professional qualifications. Committed to professional development and having ourselves, as a business, just achieved Corporate Chartered Status, we are delighted with the progress and success of our team and fully applaud their efforts and achievements.

Elsbeth McDonagh has recently passed her IF8 Commercial Insurance module, which means she is now fully CERT CII qualified. She has shown real determination and commitment to achieve this award, and her attention to detail has been apparent from the start. We’ve monitored her progress through the Level 3 modules and have been impressed with her enthusiasm and aptitude. Gaining the full CERT CII qualification is no mean achievement!

Josie Bearne passed her IF1 Commercial Insurance module last December, which means she is now well on the way towards gaining her CERT CII qualification. We’ve been very impressed with her approach and work ethic and fully support her endeavours. Keep up the good work, Josie!

A core qualification for insurance staff, the Level 3 Certificate is designed to develop knowledge of the key disciplines before students focus their studies and choose an area of specialisation. It provides a general grounding in regulatory environment, underwriting and claims, and covers popular products, such as motor, household, healthcare and packaged commercial insurances.

We are also pleased to report that in February Stephen O’Donnell passed the M94 module, as he works towards achieving the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Diploma in Insurance. This is a progression from the Certificate in Insurance, enabling participants to develop their understanding of insurance fundamentals and achieve advanced technical knowledge. It’s a widely recognised and highly respected insurance qualification, and we wish Stephen well as he continues his training.

In addition, in September Wesley McDonald passed his IF1 for Cert CII, and Tara Mooney passed her level 2 Credit Controller/Collector Apprenticeship with Distinction; in November Penny Malloura passed her M81 Insurance Broking Practice module for her DIP CII; and in February, Rachel Karn passed her Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management with Distinction.

Professional and personal development is vitally important both within the insurance industry and at NLIG. We actively support our members of staff who are either embarking on or at various levels on their development journey. Certification is a key indicator of a firm’s professionalism and commitment to the highest standards.
